Accordo di cooperazione
A “Memorandum of Understanding” was signed, on April 2003, between the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory and the Tel Aviv University, as a follow-up of the Meeting on Environmental Technologies, aiming to facilitate a joint cooperation program. The Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory has allocated 1,500,000 Euro, for the implementation of the joint cooperation program: six joint research projects.

An Agreement was signed in June 2003, between the University of Haifa (The Caesarea Rothschild Institute for Interdisciplinary Applications of Computer Science) and the Istituto Trentino di Cultura (Centro per la Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica) – on the occasion of the Meeting on “Computer Science: Research and Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Industry” – aiming at carrying out a three years joint research project on “Innovative Technologies for Human Development”. The two Institutions have jointly allocated about 1,200,000 Euro for the implementation of the project.

A “Joint Declaration of Intents in Agricultural Cooperation” was signed on December 2003, by the Ministers of Agriculture of the two Countries, following the Meeting on “Agriculture: Research and Applications”.  

An Italian-Israeli Agreement for Cooperation in the Field of Health and Medical Research entered into force on August 2003: notable activities have already been initiated, in cooperation with the Rambam Medical Center of Haifa. The main Italian counterpart is the “Istituto Regina Elena” of Rome.  

A Cultural Cooperation Agreement is in force between Italy and Israel since 1971. The relevant Executive Program for the years 2004-2007, signed on March 17, 2004, foresees the promotion of five joint scientific research projects.  

Several cooperation Agreements have been signed between Universities and other Institutions of the two Countries. The cooperation in the framework of the aforesaid Agreements has been carried out mainly through exchanges of professors and students and visiting scientists.
