Green pass and vaccine equivalence administered in Israel

Israeli certificates of vaccination and recovery from COVID-19 are recognized in Italy both for the purposes of entry into the country and as a "Green pass" to access events, facilities and other public places.

"GREEN PASS" FOR ISRAELIAN CITIZENS RESIDING IN ITALY FOR STUDY, WORK OR OTHERWISE ENROLLED IN THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE

From 23 September the Ministry of Health has recognized (with this Circular) the equivalence of Pfizer vaccines administered in Israel to those carried out in Italy. Consequently, holders of an Israeli vaccination certificate (see the recognized model here) will be able to request the issuance of the Italian "Green pass". This applies both to Italian citizens (including those residing abroad) and their cohabiting family members, but also to foreign citizens living in Italy for work or study purposes as well as to all subjects registered in any capacity with the National Health Service who are been vaccinated abroad.

"GREEN PASS" FOR ITALIAN CITIZENS VACCINATED OR RECOVERED ABROAD

Based on the provisions of the Circular of 4 August 2021, Italian citizens vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19 abroad can apply for the "green pass" ("EU Digital Covid Certificate") by going directly to the local health authorities of territorial jurisdiction(ASL) , according to the procedures established by the Regions and Autonomous Provinces. In addition to the identification document and any tax code, the compatriot must submit, depending on the type of green COVID-19 certification required:

a) the vaccination certificate issued by the Israeli authorities (see here the recognized model);

b) the certificate of recovery issued by the Israeli authorities, containing the identification data of the holder (name, surname, date of birth); information on the holder's previous SARS-CoV-2 infection, following a positive test (date of first positive molecular swab); the identification data of the person who issued the certificate (state, health authority).

These certificates, in paper and / or digital format, must be in English or accompanied by a sworn translation.
