Farewell letter by Ambassador Gianluigi Benedetti

Dear Readers and Dear Friends,

A few days before the end of my mission as Ambassador of Italy to Israel, together with my wife Sabina and my daughter Gaia, I extend our best regards to all of you.

A little over four years have passed since my arrival. These have been four exciting years of personal enrichment that will remain forever in our hearts and in our memory. We met interesting people and visited beautiful places in this extraordinary Country.

We have worked intensely and in every sector to strengthen the excellent bilateral relations which are based on a close community of values, common interests, complementary economic systems and deep bonds of friendship between our peoples, also thanks to the precious contribution of the Italian community in Israel and the Jewish one in Italy.

I thank you for the friendship, the trust and the great affection with which you welcomed us from the first moment. We have never felt “guests” in this Land that has touched our soul, but part of it and part of all of you.

A thousand times “Toda raba” and “Arrivederci”!

Gianluigi Benedetti
