Luca Ferrari – Ambassador of Italy
Ambassador Ferrari joined the Foreign and Diplomatic Service in 1986. He was then posted in Moscow and twice in Washington, D.C.. In 2009 he moved to Spain where he was appointed Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy in Madrid. In October 2013 he returned to Rome and was designated Deputy Director General for Global Affairs and Central Director for Economic and Financial Multilateral Cooperation at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In March 2016 Mr. Ferrari was nominated Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He took up his duties in Riyadh March 7, 2016. On January 2, 2020, he assumes the duties of Ambassador of Italy to China, in Beijing.
On December 12, 2022, he is appointed Personal Envoy of the Prime Minister for the G7/G20 Summits.
On June 5, 2024, he assumes the duties of Ambassador of Italy to Israel.
He was born in Rome, October 28, 1961. He is married and has one son.
