- if one of the two parents is NOT an EU citizen, he must necessarily come to the Consulate with the other parent and must sign the “Atto di assenso” in front of the Consulate staff, who will authenticate the signature. In the event that one of the parents is in Italy or abroad, he must sign the “Atto di assenso” in the presence of a Public Official in Italy or at an Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country where he is staying;
- if one of the two parents is an EU citizen, the latter’s “Atto di assenso” may be presented by the other parent, together with a copy of the absent parent’s identity document;
- in the event of the death of one of the parents, you must also bring an original copy of the death certificate with you. If the death occurred in a country other than Israel or Italy, the death certificate must be presented exclusively with legalized translation in Italian or in multilingual format;
- if it is not possible to obtain the consent of the other parent, the passport of the minor may be issued only for reasons that must be proven by solid motivations and adequate documentation and following a specific decree issued by the tutelary judge. The Head of the Consular Chancellery exercises the functions of tutelary judge for minors registered with AIRE in the Tel Aviv district.
